North Waziristan Operation: Cut the Narrative Crap

19 Oct

If you were to go through the columns in the English Newspapers today you would notice something very interesting. There is a slow move going on that is finally starting to show and turn in to a pattern. And now that the pattern is emerging it is clear that our overlords are at it again, this time they are pushing a narrative that is going to help them create a consensus eventually on a military operation in North Waziristan.

Thing is all of us by now, apart from those who follow a certain political leader, agree that Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan needs to be taken care of and eliminated. They have slaughtered close to 40,000 citizens of Pakistan in the last 5 to 7 years. So to the question of should our authorities take on the TTP, the answer is a resounding yes because any group that kills 40,000 of our people needs to be wiped out. That is crystal clear and there are no doubts about that (This does not apply to the followers of a certain leader).

The issue here is the way in which this all is going on. Because thing is this has happened quite a few times before as well, where the overlords put the machine in to action, churn out a narrative and then even though they clearly know it is all up to them, find a ponzy who will eventually take the fall if things go south. Historically that ponzy has been the Civilian Government which would take the blow back if anything goes wrong even though they have practically no say in what goes on and how it goes on during a military op.

Even the common people have figured out what is going on. There does not need to be this lame old exercise of planting material and building an opinion over a couple of months for a decision that has already been taken. All we want is honesty for once, because that is the one thing that is lacking in all narratives and stories; simple honesty. Because when the other side kills 40,000 of yours, you really do not need to create a narrative to let people know that the other side is evil. Just go after them but for the love of GOD, stop pretending as if the Civilian Government has anything to do with this. Because based on their intellect and the way they do things, this clearly is way out of their league, so don’t even attempt to give them credit for this.

So in short TTP is bad, we know that. They need to be taken out, we also know that. We do not need a narrative to tell us exactly that while somehow giving the responsibility of success and failure of it to the civilian government.
